#4 Tomatoes were once called as “Love Apples”. Because of the superstition that people will fall in love by eating them.

#6 Switzerland consumes the most chocolate per person per year. It is staggering 10 (Ten) kilos per capita.

#7 One cannot taste the food until and unless mixed with Saliva.

#8 The ancient Greeks first grew carrots as a form of medicine and not a fruit. It is because carrots are rich in beta-carotene (a powerful antioxidant which helps in maintaining healthy skin), alkaline elements (purifies and revitalizes the blood), and potassium. They also help fight tooth decay and aid digestion, among many other things.

#9 Bananas always grow pointing upwards. Its fruits mainly grow by the process of negative geotropism, it is the tendency of plant stems and other parts to grow upwards against the gravity but the bunch is very heavy and therefore it tends to bend downwards. Yay!!! Food and Science.

#10 Blueberries (also known as Jamun) are very high in anti-oxidants. It helps in controlling the Type-II Diabetes.
